Valentina Bonev, M.D., DABS, FACS, FSSO
Dr. Valentina Bonev, MD, DABS, FACS, FSSO is a board-certified breast surgical oncologist at Breastlink in Orange.
Dr. Valentina Bonev is a Board-Certified Breast Surgical Oncologist and a fellow of both the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and the Society of Surgical Oncology (FSSO). She earned her Medical Degree from the University of California, Irvine School of Medicine. She completed her General Surgery Residency at Loma Linda University Health, and went on to pursue her Fellowship training in Breast Surgical Oncology at the Lynn Sage Comprehensive Breast Center at Northwestern University in Chicago, IL.
Dr. Bonev has been interviewed live on CBS- KCAL and Fox San Diego, and NBC Los Angeles. She has also been interviewed on KNX radio and multiple medical education podcasts, bringing her expertise to a wider audience. She was also featured in the OC Register. In addition, she has authored multiple research publications and is active as a volunteer teacher and mentor. Dr. Bonev is passionate about surgical and breast health education. One of her greatest joys is giving lectures to pre-medical and medical students, as well as community lectures to patients and physicians.
In her spare time, Dr. Bonev enjoys creative writing, scrapbooking, swimming and bicycling.
She is committed to providing patient-centered care and collaborative relationships with her clinical colleagues.
Dr. Bonev sees patients for benign breast disease, breast cancer, abnormal breast biopsies, and abnormal breast imaging. She also evaluates patients who are high risk for breast cancer and offers genetic testing. She offers patients a range of surgical options, including prophylactic mastectomy.
