Breast health talks

Bring someone

Who Should Attend

Everyone is welcome

This event is open to everyone — patients, survivors, healthcare providers, caregivers, and anyone interested in health and wellness.

  • No dance experience required
  • No cost, and refreshments are included
  • You don’t need to be a Breastlink patient
  • Move at your own pace — sit out whenever you want

If you’re in active treatment, recovering from surgery, or living with a condition that affects how you move, you’re still welcome. Please check with your care team first, and let us know at check-in so we can help you take part comfortably.

Lousine Adjemian, creator of Dance Your Way to Health

How It Started

One survivor’s idea

Dance Your Way to HealthSM was created by Lousine Adjemian, RadNet’s Director of Mammography Training in the West and a two-time breast cancer survivor.

Her own cancer was found through a screening mammogram at 41. That experience turned her into an advocate for early detection, and gave her the idea for an event that didn’t feel like a clinic: put on music, get people moving, and make it easy to ask a radiologist or a breast surgeon the question you’ve been sitting on.

She built it with the Breastlink team, and it has been growing across Southern California ever since.

Come for the dance, stay for the knowledge. Let’s move together towards a healthier future.

Why Movement

Why we start with dancing

Being active is one of the few things within your control that is consistently linked to lower breast cancer risk.

12–21%
Lower risk

Across 38 studies, the most active women had a 12–21% lower risk of breast cancer than the least active.

150 min
Per week

National guidelines suggest 150–300 minutes of moderate activity a week, plus strength work twice.

45 min
To get started

Our cardio dance session is 45 minutes of exactly that — set to music, in good company, with nobody keeping score.

One morning of dancing is a starting point, not a treatment plan. The research above is about being active regularly over time — it doesn’t show that attending a single event changes anyone’s risk of breast cancer. For people who have been treated for cancer, regular exercise is also linked to less fatigue and anxiety and better quality of life. Talk to your own care team about what’s right for you.

The Story So Far

Where we’ve danced

What started as one idea in Tarzana has become a recurring event, and the room keeps filling up.

Everyone who showed up

The last thing that happens is the group photo. It gets bigger every time.

No mirrors, no choreography to memorize, and nobody keeping score.

“I dance for…”

Everyone fills in a heart when they arrive. They’re worth reading.

Questions

Before you come

  • No. The class is built for all levels and most people in the room have never taken a dance class. The instructor demonstrates everything, and nobody is watching you.

  • Come as you are. You can march in place, take a song off, or sit down for a stretch at any point — people do, and it’s completely normal. Bring water and wear comfortable shoes.

  • You’re very welcome. Please check with your own care team first about what activity is right for you, and tell us at check-in so we can help you take part comfortably. You’re also welcome to come just for the talks and refreshments.

  • Yes — the class, the talks, and refreshments are all free. We ask you to RSVP because space is limited and events have filled up.

  • Not at all. The event is open to everyone — patients, survivors, healthcare providers, caregivers, and anyone interested in health and wellness.

  • Please do. Most people come with a friend or family member. Just include them in your RSVP so we plan enough refreshments.

  • No — this is an education and community event, not a screening clinic. But the specialists there can answer your questions, and our team can help you book an appointment if you’d like one.

  • Comfortable clothes you can move in, supportive shoes, and a water bottle. That’s it.

Let’s move together towards a healthier future.

Bring your energy and enthusiasm. We’ll bring the music, the refreshments, and the people who can answer your questions.
