Wael Harb, MD is a Breast Oncologist with the MemorialCare Cancer Institute at Breastlink.

Dr. Wael Harb is an extremely distinguished medical oncologist with 23 years of experience in oncology, hematology and clinical research. He earned his medical degree from the University of Damascus School of Medicine in Damascus, Syria and completed fellowship training in Medical Oncology at Indiana University in Indianapolis, IN.

Prior to joining MemorialCare Cancer Institute, Dr. Harb’s extensive experience includes establishing the Horizon Oncology Center in Lafayette, Indiana, which grew to become the highest quality cancer center in North Central Indiana. He also launched Verdi Oncology in 2018, a national oncology management company, focused on value-based care and innovative therapies, which ultimately expanded to three states (Indiana, Texas and Tennessee).

Dr. Harb also has an array of experience in the research arena, building a clinical research program, launched in 2001, which specialized in phase 1 oncology trials. This program won multiple awards from ASCO and ESMO. He also supervised over 100 trials as a principal investigator and enrolled over 1000 patients. Of those trials, nearly 10 drugs he investigated have become FDA approved.

Dr. Harb has published over 130 articles and conferences presentations as an author or coauthor and is extremely active in community service including his work as founder of a nonprofit organization called Community Cancer Network (CCN), which helps cancer patients obtain their non-medical needs, in 11 counties throughout North Central Indiana. Dr. Harb served as Chairman of CCN for 15 years and helped raise over $1.5 million in donations and serve over 1500 cancer patients.
