Dr. Shawndeep Singh Tung is a fellowship trained Breast Surgical Oncologist who couples his expertise in surgery with a patient centric approach that considers all needs of the patient in the context of their care. During his fellowship at Georgetown University, Dr. Tung honed his skills as a surgeon with more in-depth training in general breast surgical oncology, as well as more advanced oncoplastic techniques such as nipple sparing mastectomy and hidden scar approaches. He has an in-depth knowledge of cancer biology, breast imaging, genetics, as well as the most advanced surgical options to help patients achieve the best outcome.

Originally born and raised in Southern California, Dr. Tung ventured to Europe for medical school before returning to the United States to complete a postdoctoral fellowship in the department of Stem Cell Transplantation and Cellular Therapy at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX. He went on to complete a General Surgery residency at Nassau University Medical Center in New York before deciding to focus on a career in Breast Surgical Oncology.

Dr. Tung is the recipient of several distinguished honors throughout his academic and professional career and has authored many published research articles in esteemed national professional publications. In his free time, Dr. Tung enjoys snowboarding, pickleball, martial arts, travel and most of all, spending time with his beautiful wife and son.

Dr. Tung is dedicated to improving oncologic outcomes for all breast cancer patients while optimizing and advancing the field of breast care. He is committed to providing patient-centered, comprehensive care to all of his patients at our Breastlink centers.
